Kenny Hardin and the staff at Ratterman set the standard for compassion and support during one of the most difficult times in a person's life. My husband died unexpectedly and they counseled and supported me and my family during the entire process. There was no pressure to purchase anything and they listened to what I wanted. Because of the suddenness of my husband's death and the fact he was fairly young, we hadn't discussed our funerals. Kenny and his team helped us make decisions that left me feeling very at peace with the funeral arrangements. I highly recommend the Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home.
We’d like to give Thanks to Kenny for making our mother’s funeral go smoothly. We didn’t have to worry about anything. They took care of the family very well!! We would highly recommend using this facility!!
I would highly recommend working with Ratterman especially Kenny and Elizabeth. They were extremely caring and made my family feel like our Mom was the most important person they have ever taken care of. During the most stressful and emotional time Kenny and Elizabeth were there every step of way providing not only their superior knowledge but explained everything in great detail to make us very comfortable to leave our loved one in their care. They have even followed up with us to make sure we are taking the time to grieve and honor Mom and that is beyond service…that’s family!
Oh my goodness, where do I begin? My husband passed away at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. Peter at Ratterman took care of all the logistics of transporting him home to Louisville. When he met with me and my children, he gently walked us through all of the funeral arrangements. We didn’t have a clue as to how it all worked, and he was professional and knowledgeable. We all left the initial meeting praising his helpfulness and sincerity. The day of the funeral, everything was perfectly set up, and Ratterman did a great job at handling the huge crowd. Although some had to park a couple of blocks away due to the sheer number of people who attended, Peter had the procession ready to go at the appointed time. In addition, he made sure that we did not have to deal with the cemetery that day. They had not left the best impression with us, so Peter stepped in and hanfked the ceremony and administrative details so we did not have to worry about that. Finally, when I went to settle our account, it was seamless and less expensive than I had anticipated. I also must say that they provided me with a very helpful packet of things that needed to be done after a death. I found that very helpful. He had the death certificates to me within a week, which was very helpful. Perhaps the most special thing about Ratterman is the human element. They touched base with us after thanksgiving to let us know they were thinking about us, since holidays are a hard thing to go through after a death. I could not have gotten through my husband’s funeral had it not been for Peter and Ratterman Funeral Home. I cannot recommend them highly enough!
Ratterman was very responsive to all of our needs. My father passed unexpectedly. I cold called them and asked them if they could pick him up instead of the coroner. They were there very quickly and gave us time to be with him before they removed him from his home. They met with us to explain our options, shared costs and for us in and out in less than an hour. They helped us with the obituary, lined up a military service for us and kept all promised dates. I had several, off the wall, questions throughout the process and they were always speedy, courteous and helpful no matter what the request. They have even followed up after to check in on the family. I highly recommend them for the care of your loved one and for the entire family at such a difficult time
