Alan is so professional and caring, way above any norms of any business, and the shoes are worth every penny!
Excellent! Allan Kleinman is an excellent shoemaker, especially if you need "special needs" shoes. I had the misfortune of a disagreement with my mower 42 years ago, which removed 5 toes and broke my leg. When the long cast came off, I broke the same ankle. Adding to that I had a major stroke 30 years ago (Yes, affecting the same side). With Allan's shoes I returned to work as a family physician 6 months later. To add to the problems now I am a diabetic and a hip replacement caused my right leg to be 1 inch shorter. The combination of amputation, stroke and diabetes and shorter leg requires a special shoemaker. Allan has outstanding skill and ability to assess the multiple needs and has passion for constant improvement and the burning desire to be the best in his trade.
I travel 400 miles roundtrip for each visit. To me it is well worth it. Simply put: my choices are either using Kleinman's shoes (and a cane) or a wheelchair. I prefer the former.
If insurance pays poorly or not at all, Kleinman's charges may appear expensive. Given the time and expertise that these shoes require the charges are very reasonable. Going "cheap" in special needs footwear is a mistake you will regret!
