Kentucky Gōjū Shorei Karate

My kids have been at the karate studio for a few years now. Johnny and Misty have always been really great and accommodating since my kids are in opposite age groups. My kids are in other a lot of other activities, so the flexibility of being able to pick the days they attend has also been vital for me to be able to keep them in class year round. It really feels like a large family. Even after 4 years, my kids still enjoy going 2 days a week!

What a tremendous dojo!! We felt welcomed the moment we walked through their doors. They are focused on positivity, continued strength and growth, and self-esteem building exercises. They focus on not only karate, but the complete person. We feel very blessed to have found them. Highly recommend!!!

My son has been a student at KGSK since January 2020. Sensei Johnny and Sensei Misty are amazing with the kids. My son has severe social anxiety and he comes out of his shell when it comes to class. He is not a particularly athletic kid, but this allows him to be physically active and slowly hone his skills. I could not recommend this group more.

We found KGSK when we were looking for a more personal dojo. Our son has become a more confident student and knows how to apply what he has learned in real life, which was not true in our former experience. Highly recommend!

5 stars isn't enough! They came to our school and taught a karate lesson as well as give some background knowledge. They were over the top engaging and my students had SO much fun! If I had children old enough, they would be enrolled here! Especially skilled with students who learn differently. They can connect to any student and get them to engage!
