Ken Towery's Tire & Auto Care

I was traveling through Louisville and smelled what I thought was rubber. I assumed there was a tension pulley issue and the belt was smoking and I told the manager what I was assuming. Long story short, there was oil that coming from the dipstick that was not secured tightly by a service station in Charleston, WV that was causing the smell. The crew at Ken Towery’s were honest when they could have easily charged me for a belt that I didn’t need. I live out of state and they knew that I wouldn’t be a return customer. They even put my tires at the right pressure just because it was the right thing to do. Greg, the manager, and his crew were friendly, honest, and make me wish I lived on Kentucky just so I could be a repeat customer!

My wife had gotten a flat tire on our 2019 Civic on a Sunday, so there were very few options available. After calling 3 places that WERE open, this location told us to bring it right in and they would help us out. Once we got the car there, we were told by the manager that he didn't have our size tire in and that the car would probably be done the next day. We dropped the car and went home only to get a call about an hour and ten minutes later saying the car was done. Very grateful for fast friendly service especially since they had to get the tire from another location in order to get us out the door same day. Thanks a lot guys!

I have taken my car to Ken Towery’s on Hurstbourne twice now. The first time was 2 months ago just to get a tire replaced. I expected them just to give me a new tire and send me on my way, but when I looked through the window, I saw them hammering the wheel into shape. I figured that might be necessary to install the new tire, but then was pleasantly surprised when they delivered the car and the plastic hubcap which was bent to the point where it looked like it was peeling off my car (which clearly doesn’t affect performance or installation) was also straightened and aligned. They did this at no charge and didn’t even mention it. It was as if it was expected as part of professional service. Suffice to say I was impressed!

Since the shop is so clean and appointments are easy to make on the website AND they are open on the weekends, I figured they would be ideal to take my car to to get a full inspection. This is when I met Greg, the GM. I told him I didn’t know much about cars, so after I got the inspection report he took me back to my car to actually show me where the parts were worn down and damaged. No mechanic has *ever* done this before. Thomas, a mechanic, also came over and joined the discussion and together they were able to explain in terms that I clearly understood how these damages happened, what it would cost, and how I should prioritize them in terms of long term cost, fuel economy and safety.

When discussing budgeting issues at check out with Greg, I felt educated and comfortable. I also felt he respected my financial concerns and didn’t pressure me to take care of fixes that weren’t a major priority, specifically safety issues.

All in all, I decided that Ken Towery’s on 3800 Hurstbourne Pkwy would be the place that I would take my business permanently and recommend to everyone else!

I always have a good experience at this Ken Towery location. The visit before this I had to replace a tire in which they did not have in stock but they called the closest location and they had the tire in stock and managed to get me in immediately. They are always very helpful and get you in and out as quickly as possible.

This is the ONLY place I will take my Jeep. I trust everyone in there with absolutely everything. They don’t “steer” (ha, get it) you in the wrong direction and will not hesitate shoot you straight. I haven’t ever given a thought about going anywhere else. These people are my go to, no matter what.
