Does one begin a the end of the story or the beginning? Well, from the end results I am so joyously thankful for the help and relief I have received from my limited visits with Dr Mims. I have always tried to use natural healing for ailments- like yoga for back pain and herbal teas for colds, but I had been reluctant to try acupuncture because I had not known anyone who had been treated. With several severe diagnosis recently for a myriad of health problems I was persuaded by my herbalist friend to give acupuncture a try.
The two major issues I was facing were 1) endometriosis & 2)post traumatic headaches from a car wreck. My primary care Dr. wanted me to treat endometriosis with laser surgery and my neurologist wanted me to be on daily pain meds for the severe headaches. I really felt those were extreme options. My first visit with Dr. Mims I brought my husband, for support and because I was super nervous. I, then, spent the next hour describing what I had been going through, based on the form I filled out ahead of time. She would ask questions. I felt (and feel) that Dr. Mims was detailed in collecting my medical story.
She set up a treatment plan which included a combination of acupuncture and traditional Chinese herbs. I felt optimistically hopeful I would feel a difference. I have only been to see her 3 times (once a month) and literally ALL of my endometriosis symptoms have ended. and my headaches have drastically reduced! Now I am sharing my experience with strangers :) telling them to try it - I can attest to how quick and painless the treatment has been for me.
And if the results for my major problems wasn’t enough, she has also treated my reoccurring nightmares, fatigue and cold hands. The acupuncture and herbs have made such a difference in my life. Dr Mims is such a lovely, caring person. I look forward to visiting her cozy office.
