The clerks office accepted my print out of my car insurance when I registered an out of state vehicle. They have small signs notifying you to email a digital copy of your car insurance. The Covington location requires a PDF file from your car insurance company and doesn’t accept a paper copy. I went to the Independence location around 8:30am without a wait time. Friendly and caring employees were present.

Wow so many improvements to this historic site. No more line snaking outside. There is a friendly greeter who takes your information and a digital board to watch as your name pops from the wait section on the left to the service section with kiosk number on the right. Bonus! There are seats to sit in.
My only regret is that all the historic wood on the floors and the court rooms are gone; told it was necessary to keep the building. A little sad. I've been going here since my friend's dad was Sheriff of Independence back in the 1970s. They did keep the marble so that's a plus and most important, they kept the building!

Went to the sheriff's office to update my ccw license. I was in and out in about 10minutes from start to finish. The lady taking care of me was professional, prompt and courteous.
