I reached out to Josie and she was more than helpful when I asked her if she could make me a crocheted Cubs themed scarf! This was her own design, I just provided the patches and she sewed them on for me. Super warm and durable. My mother crocheted for as long as I could remember but cannot do it it anymore. I showed her this scarf and loved it as well! Great work Josie! Thank you very much!
If you’re in Stanton, KY, you’ll want to stop by this fantastic store. Their beautiful window displays will immediately draw you in. This Appalachian gift shop makes you feel at home and offers three rooms of various items made in the region. This includes but is not limited to clothing, kitchenware, jewelry, artwork, mirrors, ceramics, quilts, goat milk products, honey, and candles. The owner was so helpful and knowledgeable about all the unique gifts she had.
If one wanted to treat themselves to the most excellent, locally made crafts in Powell County, they'd like to come to Sticks, Stones, and Stitches. The outstanding art that displays the business's name makes the building distinct and hard to miss. I had the glorious opportunity to meet the owner Josie, one of the most friendly people I met. She immediately greeted my colleagues and me and had multiple conversations, making us feel very welcome. The shop had a delightful aroma, most likely due to the great candle and wax products available right when you walk in. There were clothing options, woodwork crafts, art, and much more to the left and right of the store. The front desk is directly in front of the door, so you'll be greeted as soon as you enter. I'm glad I could visit this magnificent gift shop, and I guarantee many more will be too.
Unique one of a kind gifts mostly from Kentucky.
Owner is so helpful and full of recommendations.
If you are still looking for a Mother's Day gift, Run, don't walk to this lovely shop. I bought some moonshine jelly and took that over to a friend's house, huge hit. So yummy on creme cheese and crackers. Now I have an order for 3 jars the next time I am in the area!
The best local items that can be purchased. Everything from local honey, oils, vinegars, to loose leaf tea and crocheted items. A must stop if you are traveling to Red River Gorge or Natural Bridge to purchase those one of a kind memorabilia. Family owned and ran. If buying that special gift for someone, they will even wrap it for you. Just a few of the items I purchased for gifts....and EVERYONE is made local.
