Training Jiu Jitsu is one of the best things I’ve ever done for my mental and physical health. For those of you that think this is only a “young man’s game”, you’re wrong. I started at 40.
Some JJ schools are shark tanks waiting to devour new recruits, but GJJKY eases you into the sport and brings you into a family that pushes you to a better version of yourself.

I have been attending class with Gracie jitsu of Kentucky at the Shelbyville location for going on 3 years now. I was 27 at the time and had never done any type of Martial Arts before then so I was a bit nervous being older and jumping into this. After the first class I was hooked.
Gracie Jitsu of Kentucky is such an inviting place to attend and really it's just a big family of people working together to get better at defending themselves and their loved ones.
The instructors have been training for 10+ years and know their trade and know how to teach it, whether it be kids or adults. All are welcome! So if you're contemplating joining and practicing Jiu Jitsu, stop, and just get out on the mats today!
A wonderful place to train. Everyone is welcoming and willing to help you learn the art in any way they know how. The atmosphere is amazing and all of the instructors are incredibly knowledgeable. And there are great classes for kids of all ages! I strongly recommend to anyone willing to take on a new and exciting journey for their life!
I've been training at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu for about six months now, and I'm loving it! The instructors are all very knowledgeable, experienced, and they really know how to teach. I've learned so much in such a short amount of time, and I feel much more confident in my skills.
The atmosphere at the gym is also great. Everyone is friendly and supportive, and I've made some great friends. I always look forward to my classes, and I know that I'm getting a great workout.
