Great worship place.

First time visitor. Good song worship and I enjoyed the sermon. I felt welcomed. The spirit of the Lord was there.

My husband and I are members of Istrouma Ascension, and first began attending as non-believers back in the Spring/Summer of 2013. By the grace of God and the way the Gospel is clearly presented here, we both became believers in our own time, and were both baptized at Istrouma Ascension. Now we're here every Sunday unless we're out of town or someone's sick, and let me tell you, I NEVER in my wildest dreams thought I would be a church person as an adult (I'm originally from California and let's just say I partied a lot in college and afterwards when I lived in Hollywood). God has used this church, which is very Biblically and Scripturally based, to completely change mine and my husband's life, and the way we raise our children, all for the better. When we first started attending (I was about 4 of 5 months pregnant with my youngest at the time), everyone was very welcoming to us even though we'd always sit in the back and keep to ourselves. When I finally filled out a communication card with a prayer request for the safe delivery of my child who was due that week, the Pastor called me to ask if it would be okay if - even though we had intentionally kept to ourselves - members of the church who we didn't even know could deliver homemade meals to us after our son was born to help us out as we adjusted to having two little ones. That's how the congregation is at Istrouma Ascension - they just love you right on in. The church has great opportunities for preschoolers, elementary kids, middle and high school students, as well as several resources of the larger campus in Baton Rouge off I-12. If you're looking for a church where you can truly gain a caring and loving church family, Istrouma Ascension is the place for you!
