This fine area is well maintained, has great trails, has great views, and a fantastic beach. Multiple trail areas include loops, hardwood forest, bamboo forest, and many scenic overlooks. The trails are kept up and highly recommended!
Why did it take until quarantine for me to learn about this place?? So fun and quiet. It's a great place to go recharge and get some extra activity in. Kids love it here.
This is a really good trail and scenery was great.
Really enjoyed the primitive trails in this park. Walked all of them in about three hours. Most areas not overgrown or muddy. Bugs and wildlife weren’t bad.
I brought my 3 & 5 year old kids on the hiking trails. They liked all the water & bridges. They most enjoyed the shaded sandy riverside. I even brought my big wheel Bob stroller, which was easy on trails but tricky on narrow bridges. There is a bench on Amite river lookout trail which was a perfect snack & rest spot. Next time, we will explore the Giant Bamboo Forest!
