(June 3, 2023, 7:55 pm)We were there on a Saturday, so we weren't able to go inside the museum. However, there was several information panels in front of the museum, at a kiosk in the parking lot and on the driving tour. Very interesting part of history and well worth the visit.
(May 24, 2023, 3:19 pm)Visited the museum today. We came across it when researching our journey and are so pleased we stopped off.
The museum is well presented with an audio device to use if wanted. It tells the story of the small community that was home to those who suffered from Leprosy or Hansens Disease as it was later called.
(March 20, 2023, 8:22 pm)Fascinating stories and exhibits in a fascinating setting--a former "Hansenite" (leper) colony on a National Guard base that was once a prison and originally a slave plantation. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and entertained the many questions that I had without skipping a beat. Worth the trip from anywhere in the area!

(October 6, 2022, 3:17 am)I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here. There's lots of history and information about the progress of Hansen's disease cures,and the history of this property. The curator and staff were very helpful with questions and the display exhibits. I definitely plan on going back with my family.
