  One of my favorite local bakeries. Everything I've had on their menu is bomb, the service is great. They really get to know their customers. I live across town so I don't go that often, yet they still remember me and my kiddo. Bonus points for that! Do yourself a favor, get a breakfast go cup in the morning, I recommend the bacon and egg with grits.

  A good place to have a quick breakfast. They have delicious freshly made sandwiches, croissants and breads and they also have a good variety of King cakes. Popular ones are savoury king cakes like Boudin king cakes. Their pastries and all look delicious. So is their grits. Worth a try when in the neighborhood...

  A friend suggested I check out Bywater Bakery when I was looking for wedding cakes. She knew I wanted Berry Chantilly and that I wanted to use a locally owned company.
  
  My tasting with them was great! The head cake maker was thorough and seemed genuinely excited about working with us. What I wanted was simple and they did a beautiful job at an excellent price! I even had changes all the way up to the week before the wedding and they accommodated us.
  
  My husband, on the other hand, was less simple. He wanted a carrot cake! "No problem", they said. But he wanted it to look like the Superdome! "Absolutely, we can do that!", they replied. But he wanted it to look like a true scale model with working lights! "I am up to any challenge", was their response. And did they deliver! His grooms cake was an absolute hit! Everyone loved it and most of all, he loved it!

  Their Chantilly King Cake is amazing! It's filled with Chantilly cream and berries. They also have a Chocolate Truffle and Raspberry and many other awesome king cakes. If you don't have much of a sweet tooth, they also have savory options, including Spinach and Artichoke.
  Notice that their hours are different during Carnival season.

  Nice little place in Bywater. Bakery goods, scones, cinnamon rolls, sweet rolls, bread, etc. Seating for maybe 25. They let dogs in here, and when I went a bad owner let his mutt bark continuously instead of taking him outside.
  Then the have breakfast and lunch sandwich stuff.
  THE FOOD: I had a great Americano coffee. Rich, dark, tasty.
  I had Shrimp Etoufee with eggs and grits and found out it comes in a "to go" paper coffee cup. SO good! Only a shrimp or two, but great flavor if you mix it before eating (eggs and grits on the bottom).
  I ordered a BLT to go for lunch and a cinnamon/pistachio scone for the next day breakfast.
  The BLT was very good. Great quality bacon done well, tasty soft bread with mayo and lettuce and tomato. It's a good sized sandwich also.
  The scone was perfect. Loved it.
  The place is clean, has some interesting decor, and the staff is friendly. I'll be back.
