Wonderful place right downtown. Decor was great and the food was beyond excellent. Started out with the rolls and butter, followed by Mama's Bread with olive oil and it was absolutely delicious. We then had fried shrimp with handcut fries and the Shrimo Scampi over Angel Hair. Both were very well seasoned, not to salty like so many chain restaurants, then we ordered the largest slice of homemade chocolate cake with caramel and walnuts on top. Easy to tell everything is homemade with care and pride. In the end We left hurting from eating too much, and had to carry the slice of cake home. Very much worth what you will spend.
Andre was our server today & he is excellent and darling! I had the shrimp po boy, sister had grilled veggies salad & other sister had fried catfish with crawfish etouffe. The catfish was light & fluffy. The grilled veggies salad was plentiful & the homemade bleu cheese dressing was exquisite. Thankfully, they sell it. Now, to my delightful sandwich... did I tell you it was served on homemade bread??? Tartar sauce, lettuce, tomatoes & pickles served with lightly breaded shrimp = heaven. Lovely atmosphere. Beautiful fabric covering the seats. Wonderful paintings add up to a lunch you will never forget. This will be a once a month venture for us!
My food was totally delicious. I had the broiled redfish with a baked potato and it was scrumptious. Both the fish and potato were cooked to perfection! The only downside to our visit is that the restaurant is small with tables in close proximity to one another.
Excellent food. Plentiful. We won’t need to eat supper after this wonderful lunch.
