Fun tour with nice facilities. The canal/bayou was fascinating and beautiful to me as a tourist from AZ. And of course we got to see several alligators! Brian was an excellent guide who knew his stuff and answered lots of questions!
Once you make it back well beyond the canals it's a spectacular environment of marsh level rebound after catastrophic loss of the forest. This swap is leftover from a massive grove of cypress that will take a thousand years to recover, under conditions that no longer exist. The marsh however thrives under protection of the canal spoilbanks, at least between storm-driven saltwater advances. Bring a book and snacks, find a hundred-year grove of cypress to set up a hammock and listen to birds, frogs, insects, alligators, and rustling nutria. Amazing around sunset.
Had a wonderful time touring the swamps. Captain Tom was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We saw tons of gators and turtles. The weather was perfect and the views were breathtaking. Would definitely recommend this tour.
One question.
What's the wifi password?
Natural reserve teaming full of alligators, soft shell turtles, gars, trees and raccoons. Had a good history lesson traveling through this area as part of our boat tour.
