Northshore Rehabilitation Hospital

I recently had hip surgery due to a fall. After the surgery I moved to Northshore Rehab Hospital. When I arrived, I couldn't move my left leg at all and required extensive assistance. I was also very nervous going into a new environment. Much to my surprise this was a wonderful experience. Instead of a clinical, cold environment, I found a warm, caring family environment. Everyone, from doctors to nurses to CNAs to therapists, treats you as if you're their family member, caring for you and helping you toward your goals. Each becomes a ray of sunshine that you can't wait to see. Rather than dreading the therapy sessions, I couldn't wait to get there. The patients became friends and the atmosphere in the therapy room was like a big happy family. My physical therapist was Lisa and my occupational therapist was Mindy. From the first day I met them they made me feel safe, confident and special. By the time I left, I had two new daughters who had taught me to function completely on my own. I could walk with the walker, move my leg independently, shower, dress and care for myself. Any obstacle I faced, they quickly addressed and resolved. The progress I made in 10 days there was incredible and all due to their skill, knowledge and most of all caring. When it was time to leave, I truly hated to go. It was like leaving family members. Anyone needing any type of rehab should definitely go to Northshore Rehab Hospital. It was an amazing experience and gave me my independence back. Thank you to everyone at Northshore Rehab! I'll never forget you!!!

The doctors, nurses and therapists worked my husband each day striving for improvements. They were all kind, compassionate and careful but determined. THANK YOU to his care team.

I was recently discharged from Northshore Rehabilation Hospital. My experience there was exceptional! From the first day to the last day my care team worked with me to meet my individual goals. From each Doctor, Nurse, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Techs, Nurse Assistant, Dietary, and housekeepers were ALL caring, and supportive. Myself and my family were always treated with the up most respect and care. Everyday you were treated by a professional team that enjoyed being at their job and working with you.

My hope was restored and I personally received a life-changing experience. I knew that I was on my way when I met my first goal to walk again with a cane. When I walked 300 ft with a cane I broke down with tears of joy. To drive again may be a little further down the road but I know it is attainable. The next joy I completed was on my second day home and I was able to walk my dog using my cane. It may of been in my back yard but it was a baby step to so much more!

I cannot say enough on how professional every staff member who worked on my team to help me regain a new hold on life. The day after my discharge I had an appointment with my primary Neurologist who also was very impressed with my upward progression.

Choosing Northshore Rehabilitation Hospital truly contributed to this life changing experience that I received. I learned new skills and received new tools to assist me on my journey to recovery. I still have a long road ahead but I now know this too is something I can do. Rehab is not easy and I too must be committed to continue the exercises that I learned. My husband was also instructed in assisting in my care. Together we will work on this along with outpatient therapy. I cannot thank Northshore Rehabilitation Hospital enough for all their specialized care !

A+. 5 stars. Top notch. I couldn’t have asked for better care. These people are awesome. My broken hip left me in pain and wondering. I was transferred here after surgery in Mississippi on advice of a friend. Thank God. Melinda moved heaven and earth to get me in. Susan and Devon (and team) encouraged me and got me moving. Many other nurses and Assistants watched over me and took care of me while I got up and going again. (Special shout out to Katrina). The doctors were knowledgeable, concerned, and helpful with getting me back on the road. The place is clean and is one of the best run businesses of any kind, from the customer point of view, that I’ve been in for years. I look forward to the rest of my healing so I can walk in (without limping) and thank them again face to face. If you need inpatient rehab, this is absolutely the place to go. 👍💪😘

I had anxiety about coming here, but from the moment I arrived the entire staff treated me with respect, kindness and compassion. The nurses and nurse's assistants are angels on Earth. They cared for me with a smile. All the therapist worked diligently to get me to my best possible condition. I made progress everyday. Thank you for giving me my life back. That's what they do at Northshore Rehab. The best place ever.
