Such a beautiful park! Nice beach, good hiking, fabulous scenery. With that said…find it odd that the camping area is crickets by 8PM. No fires, no sign of life. Everyone flocks into their tiny homes.
Very nice State Park. Lots of moss covered oaks..... we will be back in fall, winter or spring but not summer. We enjoyed all the trails and the deer grazing all over. The front registration office employees and the park ranger were very courteous. An all around pleasant experience.
The camping was amazing. The staff was great. We stayed over the 4th of July weekend and had a really good time. The restrooms were immaculately clean and sanitized. The showers are so clean, refreshing, air conditioned and some of the best public facilities I've ever used.
Such an amazing park for camping. The campground is big, the facilities are clean, and it's big rig friendly. There are a handful of full hookup sites available. Great access to New Orleans, the Causeway and other areas. The park has several playgrounds and a nice splash pad for the kiddos to cool off. Would highly recommend a visit if you're in the area.
One of my favorite places. We have trick or treated twice on campgrounds. Nice splash pad. Beach is really nice for small kids, shallow and sandy beach. Good amount of bathrooms and showers. The trails are nice to walk and connects to the Tammany trace for biking. The whole place including some cabins are dog friendly which is awesome as my Rottweiler loves to splash and play with his human.

57 reviews of Fontainebleau State Park "Today was my first time visiting Fontainebleau State Park and it won't be the last. This beautiful park is located just 45 minutes from New Orleans on the north shore of Lake Ponchartrain near Mandeville. After spending a few quiet hours on the beach relaxing and watching the wind surfers, I explored the various campgrounds the park had to offer.
