Best doctor I've ever had. He gives his patients time and listens and is very knowledgeable. Very lucky to call him my doctor.
Never have I had a doctor give his full attention to his patients and not try to run out to the next one in line while I was still asking questions until Dr Zerangue came along. I feel like I matter. Other doctors should take notice and learn how to actually CARE for their patients. ......
**********UPDATE******
To those wondering, I am still a patient of
Dr ZERANGUE. I stand by the words I spoke of him from day one and can even say I appreciate him more and more as time goes by. Especially after seeing other doctors (specialist). No names mentioned. I thank God for placing my doctor in my path every day. I will never change. (No matter what my insurance tries to tell me I HAVE to do.) sorry I couldn’t resist. 😁
Dr. Anthony Zerangue is INDEED a great doctor, with an equally great supporting staff! Everyone who works there has consistently been exceptionally friendly with me.
Though I have had a lot of reservations about staying on this medicine, I have been on Buprenorphine maintenance for approximately 5 years for Opioid Dependence.
The truth is that before I began long-term Opioid Replacement maintenance, I was a literal poster boy of the ongoing "Opioid Epidemic" wreaking devastation across America today. I had been strung out & spun out on Hero-in, as in Heroin, for approximately 10 years.
I was an extreme example of a self-destructive & destructive to others {& what we have left in America of a "society" at large}. I was an extremely dysfunctional wrecking ball. That is perhaps the simplest way to describe myself while strung out on Heroin & Benzodiazepines {especially the good ole Zombie drug, Xanax/Alprazalom}.
It wasn't as though I had not ever made a sincere attempt at quitting for good. Just a couple years after having first crossed "that" line to do hardcore IV drug abuse, as a damn young teenager when I was 17 years old; I went off to a very nice, world-renowned inpatient rehab {Hazelden, in Minnesota}, truly wanting to quit, for good.
I also went to a nice long-term "aftercare" inpatient drug addiction rehab for about 4 months after the 28 day gig at Hazelden.
By some sort of small miracle, I managed to stay off all illegal addictive drugs for about 3 years after I got out of those inpatient rehabs.
Won't go into the whole story, but it didn't work. Partly because of my own mistakes, but also because..well, it's complicated. I know a lot of people simply do not understand how a human being can knowingly do, & keep doing, something so obviously "wrong."
Opioids are extremely difficult to stay off of once you become addicted because, the truth that will enrage many people & cause them to {very ignorantly, seriously} indignantly disagree in a knee-jerk way is..Opioids are definitely *EXTREMELY* addictive because they are a *PERFECT* "any time" drug to use.
The truth I challenge anyone to try to disprove is that when one has access to *inexpensive free market priced refined opioids wherein you know what the potency of the drug is & you are able to precisely measure the amount of the drug, without criminal penalties which automatically turn you into a criminal* simply by them (it is NOT illegal to USE any drug in America, even evil Heroin, it's ONLY illegal to POSSESS or SELL certain drugs, most of which are extracted from plants, just like Heroin)..the truth is, Opioids are just about the safest chemicals, addictive or not, known to Man.
I am NOT saying that people SHOULD use them or that it would be a "good" thing for anyone to use them, much less become addicted to them. OF COURSE THAT WOULD BE OBJECTIVELY "BAD." Bad for the individual addicted, and bad for society at large. Ideally, humans would not become addicted to ANY addictive mind altering chemical.
It absolutely sucks to experience life in such a way you feel you "need" a chemical to function for just one day of our short lives, and to basically become a slave to that chemical.
So don't go on twisting my message, even though I know some emotionally triggered {which shuts off the part of our brains that processes logic, in other words, the part of our brains that allow us to think instead of make choices based upon feels/emotions} people always will.
All that said, the truth many {if not most} people in America seem to refuse to accept is, *a certain number of people will ALWAYS, even in a relatively healthy society {which 2019 America DEFINITELY is NOT}, will always seek out, use, and become addicted to mind-altering chemicals.*
I believe that we as a society should accept that, and work to create a social order/"society" to minimize the number of people who choose to use addictive drugs, including the objectively absolute worst most dangerous addictive drug of all, Ethanol aka "Alcohol."
Dr. Zerangue is very caring and concerned. He takes as much time as you need to address all of your issues. His staff is very helpful and polite as well. It’s very hard to find doctors like him anymore! Best doctor award!
Wonderful staff and doctor. Would rate them higher if I could. Dr. Z is a rare breed. He takes the time to get to know his patients. He actually cares.
