Chesapeake Birth and Baby Doulas

Absolutely worth every penny. Danielle and Megan were wonderful and available for every stupid text and question we could have as first time parents. Megan was with us throughout the labor (which stalled several times). She had a great sense of humor and knew exactly how to help through each contraction. She helped us decide how long to labor at home/when to head to the birth center/hospital. Their advice was invaluable as we were navigating the hospital/birth center processes during COVID. They knew all the players and policies and helped us make the best decisions, even when things diverted from our original plan. We felt so supported the whole time. The doulas really are there for YOU and can help you through all the different choices you could face during an uncertain time. Danielle also answered my questions and concerns about breastfeeding--something you can never really know until you experience it. We love love LOVED our experience with them and will definitely come back should we have another baby!

So sad to say goodbye to our Doulas this week. Danielle and Anna really helped us settle in as parents of 2, during the holidays, and in a pandemic. Danielle was so supportive, knowledgeable, and available for all things postpartum- breastfeeding, pumping, and mental health. Our 5 year old absolutely LOVED hanging out with Anna, and we were amazed at how she managed to entertain him AND help around the house. My goal with this second baby was to be able to heal and bond with baby during this critical period and these wonderful women definitely helped me accomplish that. I'm so grateful. Thanks again ladies ❤️

Working with Chesapeake Birth and Baby was one of the smartest decisions we have ever made! From pre-birth classes through postpartum help, they are second to none.

Danielle and Megan offer a judgement-free, knowledge-based approach to birth and babies. They have insider knowledge about local doctors, midwives, delivery location options, and hospital policies, which proved to be extremely helpful as we were new to the area and dealing with a pandemic.

After an uncomplicated pregnancy, Danielle was by our side through an unexpected induction, helping us articulate our questions and evaluate the available options. (The pre-delivery classes were extremely helpful, but we were so thankful to have Danielle there as a real time resource). When we were scared, she was a source of calm. She was both realistic and helpful. Not only did she help me throughout labor, but she constantly checked in on my husband, making sure he was OK and helped him help me.

After our baby was delivered, she continued to be a wealth of knowledge, answering all of our questions. She was extremely helpful with her breast-feeding support (providing guidance on everything from the first latch, to pumping, to ‘is this normal’ questions). We hope to be able to use Chesapeake Birth and Baby again in the future. We cannot recommend them enough!

Working with Chesapeake Birth and Baby was absolutely the best decision we could have ever made when preparing for the arrival for the arrival of our first child. The classes we received were extremely informative and prepared us for everything. Danielle and Megan were professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and an absolute joy to work with. They made us feel very comfortable, confident, and excited for the process.

We could not have had the birthing experience we had without Danielle. She put forth a monumental effort during the labor process and remained our advocate during the entire time. It was literally a perfect experience – largely because of all of the help we received from Danielle. She cared about our well-being and we could tell she was personally invested in the health of our baby before, during, and after the birth.
Building a relationship and friendship with Danielle really helped and the classes leading up to the birth helped us understand what to expect and build trust between one another.

Danielle has remained a constant source of knowledge and her calming presence cannot be praised enough – whether during labor or during questions after birth.

We are eternally grateful to Chesapeake Birth and Baby. I cannot recommend them enough, choosing to work with Chesapeake Birth and Baby was absolutely one of the best decisions we even made. No doubt about it.

I had the best experience with Chesapeake Birth and Baby! I worked with Danielle and she communicated great and was always available in the months leading up to my son’s birth. She was so helpful when my plans shifted and I went from planning a birth center
birth to a hospital birth. I was able to have the Unmedicated labor and delivery I had planned with her support and I absolutely could not have done it without her. Danielle also was a great support system for me after my son was born and was always available to answer my questions postpartum. I would 100% recommend her and will use her again if I have anymore children!
