The Chesapeake Children's Museum

My son and daughter-in-law had my granddaughter's fifth birthday party here. It was awesome! Totally age appropriate play stations. Both the girls and boys enjoyed playtime (there were 15 kids). Debbie did an awesome presentation of presenting two snakes, toads and a bearded dragon named Mike. The kids were able to touch them, except for the toads and it was explained why they shouldn't be held or touched, totally educational fun! They also did a story and crafts outside. In the downstairs area is where we had pizza and cake, which you order separately, it is not included in the fee, that's also where we opened the gifts. In all I think it's totally worth it!

We love his cute little museum. There's so much for kids, we couldn't cover it all n one day. We're definitely coming back! Even I felt like a kid again!!

The kids (3yr and 5yr) LOVED the museum so much in the morning that they asked to go back after lunch. There’s lots of shade on the outdoor spaces as well. I’m excited to continue to support this wonderful community resource!

The children loved it! The house is fun and free play is encouraged. The grounds are lovely. The kids enjoyed the craft, short nature walk and puppet show we had as part of an organized group event. They also looked being able to do whatever activities they wanted, including painting and playing with old typewriters. Only minor criticism was the director who led our group was not particularly engaging and basically had the parents do all the transitions to different activities. We also did not get to see the animals as we were supposed to because she got busy on the phone and with other people coming in the door (she was the only one working). By the time she was ready, the kids had moved on. Knowing all of that, I would highly recommend a visit with kids fro walking to elementary age. It was a lovely experience.

What a great place for kids! It's way worth the value, there's so much for kids to do here, from blocks and duplos, to animals, to exploring art or the dentist office or the supermarket. It may seem random and a little out of the way, but that's just part of it's quirks. If you bring your kids here, be prepared to spend a couple hours cause they'll have such much fun playing.
