Cassandra Woods is the prenatal baby whisperer! This was my third pregnancy but first vaginal delivery. My desire to experience my first home water birth was granted when I decided to go with Cassandra. While starting off on the traditional route with an OB, I was confronted with all of the stereotypical road blocks you can think of while being an African American woman that had two C-sections. I decided that I had enough and became my own advocate. My doula, Lydia Harris (Labor of Love Services) provided me a list of midwives in my area. Ironically, while doing my own search I stumbled across Cassandra's name and called her around the same time I received my email from Lydia. Surprisingly, when I called she answered and stated she will call me right back..Guess what, she actually called me back and immediately I knew that I was going to stick with her! We had alot in common in terms of our birthing history and soon began to trust her and the process.
Cassandra has a natural way of making you feel at ease by explaining things in a way that is simple, concise and visual. I learned so much and felt very comfortable with each of my appointments as we got near the birth of our son. She even gave our son a nickname in the womb and funny enough, we all call him, "Dean the Bean" (hearts).
She is well connected not only with the mother to be but her resources. As time went on through my pregnancy I experienced Pelvic Floor pain. She made a phone call at the time of the appointment and it was the best connection and experience ever! Shout out to Dr.Joi Gaddy (T[her]apy). With Dr.Joi's treatments, Lydia's attentiveness and Cassandra's natural mothering gifts provided.me.with the best team to welcome our amazing son into this world! I wouldn't change a thing. I've considered doing it again (I know, crazy right).
Just know you will be in good hands with Cassandra and her team. Oh by the way, her assistant Taneka was on point, very attentive, quick, great spirit and made the process even more successful.
I would give ten stars if it was possible!

Cassandra is an excellent midwife! I got excited when I saw that she is a certified nurse-midwife providing homebirth services in Baltimore. I think Baltimore needs her services so badly. She is very kind, engaged and patient with her clients and she provides the very best care. I highly recommend her for women health services and birth. She does her prenatal visits in the comfort of your home and connects you with great resources to support your journey.

Cassandra was a birth angel. She attended my second natural birth and my first water birth. She had the calming, protector presence birthing women need in labor. If I close my eyes and think about it I can still feel Cassandra’s strong, loving embrace holding me up as I was hit by a strong wave while I was trying to undress to get into the tub. I felt like she knew the exact amount of time I wanted her around. She was calm and reaffirming when I entered transition and started shaking uncontrollably, reminding me that this meant my baby girl was coming out to me soon. She supported my husband and me by giving us our space while also staying close by. I felt very protected and safe in her care and was able to have the water birth I desired without complications. We’ll always be thankful for you, Cassandra!
