This is a wonderful place to learn about the fire department's job . I appreciate all the hard working fire fighters that risk their lives for public safety .
Only open one day in 2021 (today September 18th) been waiting to visit since I moved to the area in July. Thoroughly enjoyed the museum, so much history captured of not only Baltimore FD, but the fire service in general. Interesting apparatus and little exhibits to checkout. Spent about an hour poking around, reading, and learning. Would have been so cool to have gotten to climb to the top of the bell tower/fire lookout!
Great displays. They did a nice tour and we all got a lot out of our (CAFAA) visit.
This is a great place to learn how a fire department operates. Knowledgeable docents talked to me for 3 hours, explained everything from fire boxes and communication equipment, to fire engine and personnel protection gear. They are retired firefighters and have endless stories!
The museum is only open once a month. I'm told they are open from April to November, on the third Sunday of the month, from 12:00 to 16:00. If you are able to get in, it's worth seeing, and worth a donation.
