Old Quarry

Excellent trail with lots to see! For the path to the Quarry, you'll need to make sure to follow the map

Always one of my favorite hikes in the area. It's never overly crowded and the paths are well marked and maintained. Hiking and biking friendly trails.

Well marked trails

I grew up in Perry Hall and was surprised to see the old quarry. I know nothing about the history of it but would like to learn more. It must have been a very big operation for it's time. It looks like they completely removed/quarried away a massive hill.
The location is fairly close to Belair road. I can see ruins that appeared to be old bridges leading to the location. One bridge was a crossover of the river. The quarry has a very high cliff line and there is a trail leading to the top. I'm not a huge fan of heights so I stayed on the ground. It's interesting because there is a very wide open piece of ground where the removed portion of the ground exists and is evidence of how much earth they removed. I plan on returning and exploring more

Nice hike in both spring and winter, pet friendly, and easy going. Little kids won't have too much trouble with the short trail.
