“I was not able to finish my previous review because there are three more nurses that more than deserve a shout out for outstanding care! Diana Lewis is my Nurse Navigator and has been there to help me with everything and anything always making me feel special and just as importantly, human. Diana always does what she says she is going to do in an expeditious manner and always provides much appreciated feedback so that I know what to expect! She has become my trusted sister! I do not know their last names but Jenny in the Infusion Center and Kim in Light Infusion have both gone above and beyond the call of duty to care for me. I have had a very difficult time with chemo and both Jenny and Kim provided compassionate care, not just plugging me in to treatment but talking to me to help me through a most difficult time in my life. It is obvious to me, that all of their patients are important to them! They significantly helped me feel "normal" again. At this point in treatment, you cannot underestimate the importance of feeling normal! UPDATE: My original post was not saved....so this may not be as eloquent as the note that I originally composed....but here goes... For National Nurses Day, I specifically wanted to thank the outstanding nurses that I noted above, and one more who has taken patient care above and beyond the call of duty. Some people have a guardian angel, I have Sandra Corbin! Sandra brought me from what felt like the brinks of hell during chemo treatment when I was at my very worst with grace and compassion, treating not just my body but my mind as well. There are no words sufficient enough to thank Sandra as she continues to help me navigate what is an inexact science and find the best path for me all the while making me feel human and respected. Thank you Sandra, you have an amazing gift!”
