It's not a fancy place, but it's quiet where you can take a self guided tour and learn about the history of the canal, the area around the canal and the people. There are interactive models of the old canal locks as well as some actual equipment used along the canal. Afterwards you can walk the grounds and if you're lucky maybe even get to see a huge container ship go by. If you're into antiques there are local shops in nearby Chesapeake City.”
