As a historian of the building arts myself, I found that it feels too detached from history and place and time because everything is presented in a sort of postmodern, evocative, very stylized fashion. Quite differently from how anything described would have actually looked or been set. It would be too harsh to say that they've given a Disney-fied version Harriet Tubman's life and work. But considering how it has been so thoroughly processed and repackaged for ease of consumption, the analogy is not inapt.”
