Owen's Creek Campground

Beautiful area in the Catoctin Mountains.

I camped out here for a little birthday get away with just me and the pup. I loved it! Plenty of trails to hike and it was mostly quiet (mind you it was 4th of July weekend which was super surprising).

I will without a doubt be camping here again.

**Only thing you should know is there is only ONE shower on site for women. I showered once it got dark around 9-9:30 and I didn't have an issue running into someone or having to wait... Also, make sure you bring sandals to wear while you're in there.

A great car-camping option close to DC. The spots are pretty close together so can get a little noisy at night, even if neighbors are respectful and quiet. There are great day hiking trails right from the camping loop, or a short drive away.
