JT Custom Homes built a custom home for us, that we’ve now been in for 2 months. I found JT on Facebook, of all places! After viewing their portfolio of work we reached out to them, along with several other builders. From the first conversation with Jimmy, we knew we wanted to work with them. First, he got back to us in a timely manner (always a good sign)! Second, he took a lot of time in our initial conversation to understand what we were looking for, and what type of builder we were looking for. Once we all felt like we were on the same page with what we were looking to build and what our budget was, Jimmy met us on our property, and then worked with us over several months to review architectural drafts of our home and site plans. The quote process with JT Custom Homes is top-notch. You really are getting a fully custom home with selections that are included in your initial quote, to help reduce surprises later. Of course in the current build climate, budget and timeline can be hard for any builder, but between luck and knowledge, Jimmy worked to keep our overages down and keep our build on schedule – switching vendors and offering solutions when needed. With his estimating process (collecting as much info as possible before proceeding), he was able to keep estimates accurate to reduce surprises later, and with his honest approach to costs, when we did have some overages they were mostly covered by savings in other areas. The other great thing with JT Custom Homes is that you can be as involved or not as you’d like. They have options and will help you find things based on inspiration boards, or you’re welcome to show them exactly what you like and where you found it. My husband and I are the very involved type, but it never seemed to be a bother to anyone on the team. JT is also open to trying out new materials – like the solid surface Durasein in our shower that we absolutely LOVE. When building a new home, one of the most important aspects of the build is communication, and JT gets it. Amber, who helps in the office and with selections, was always great to communicate with and our project manager, Andrew, was the best. He was a new hire when taking on our project and totally up to the task. His cool, calm temperament is a good match for an industry that can be pretty high stress. One of the things you can also rely on with JT is that they will always do their best to make things right. As with anything hand built by humans, mistakes happen. But communication and a commitment to build their clients a home they are happy in seem to be the driving force for their company. We have no regrets in choosing JT Custom Homes!

I hired JT Custom Builders to construct an 1100sq ft garage and the result exceeded my expectations. Throughout the design process, Jimmy collaborated with me to identify options and educated me on various recommendations to ensure the garage would meet my goals. A highlight here was how we were able to work within the county guidelines and find a solution based on property setback requirements and square footage allotment.

Once we entered the build phase, Mike served as the PM and was always on time and ready to ensure the project moved forward. He was critical in finding a qualified subcontractor to meet a requested change order I made with the addition of a metal ceiling instead of drywall.

From day one, I stressed the need for open and consistent communication. Both Jimmy and Mike excelled here. Mike was particularly diligent on sending text updates and letting me know if/when challenges arose and how he was addressing them.

I highly recommend JT Custom Builders for any construction need. Their work, communication, and approach is beyond other builders I’ve dealt with.

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with JT Custom Builders to build our new home. We cannot recommend Jimmy and his team enough. Not only are they great at builds but their communication and attention to detail were wonderful. We could not be more thrilled with how our home turned out. It was fun working together to bring our visions to light. It is safe to say they captured exactly what we wanted!

I am not sure where to even start in an effort to explain what a fantastic experience it was working with Jimmy Tereyla, Michael Grewe, and the rest of the team at JT Custom Builders. From first meeting to talk about ideas, get estimates, and figure out how to proceed, Jimmy was helpful, attentive, and is clearly a master at his craft.

We decided to take a page out the Fixer Upper handbook, and provided Jimmy with some must-have's, a wish list, a few inspo pictures, and a budget. He and his team took it from there, and for the duration of the project, I had no idea what was happening behind the Zipwall.

I would do it that way all over again in a heartbeat!

Once the project was underway, Mike, John Nico, and all of the subs were top notch. Not only was their work spectacular, but they were extremely conscientious about working around our family; patient as it felt like it took a gazillion years to pick a floor stain; communicative to keep us updated on where things were; thorough as they cleaned up every.single.day; and I could go on....

They went so far above and beyond, too!! From cleaning our (super gross) fridge, to hanging out a few extra minutes after they were finished when I was running late from an appointment, to trying to help fix the water heater when the fumes from the flooring triggered some sort of safety feature.

And yesterday, after the big kitchen reveal, we celebrated with a little happy hour to break in the beautifully updated space in which I cannot wait to make more memories with my family and friends!

Our youngest asked me this morning if "the guys would be here for breakfast," because truly, they've kind of become like family! Thankfully, we have some more projects we'd like to accomplish in the months to come, and I cannot WAIT to see what they come up with next.

If you are looking to reno a kitchen, bathroom, basement... put on an addition... or even build a custom home (they do that, too!!) these ARE YOUR PEOPLE.

Jimmy, Michael, John, and Amber... you all are simply the best. THANK you for far exceeding anything I could have ever imagined both in product AND process. You all are incredibly gifted at what you do, and we can't wait to get those bathrooms on the calendar!!

We contracted JT Builders to do several projects in our new-to-us but outdated home. We just finished up phase one of the work, largely comprised of our new kitchen and walk-in pantry, and we genuinely couldn’t be any happier with the results! Here are a few highlights from our experience to date:

• Communication – expect to be impressed with how in the loop you are regarding status, pricing, options, expectations, etc.
• Quality – these guys know their stuff and genuinely care about the finished result. You don’t have to fight about little things that come up along the way because they’re on top of a solution before you even realize there was a snag in the plan
• Work ethic – I am seldom impressed with anyone’s work ethic and attention to detail, but Jimmy and his team continually impress. They delivered what we wanted and did so in a timely manner. Which brings me to:
• Customer service – they really embody the customer-is-always-right mentality. We’re constantly throwing curve balls at them as we come up with new ideas, and they couldn’t be more accommodating, pleasant, and responsive.
• Last but not least, you’re comfortable having them in your home. We’ve worked with a number of the guys on the team (if not all) and they’re all just good people that you’re very comfortable being in and out of your space all week long.

We can’t wait to get started on our second phase of the work and are confident that we will be just as pleased as we were with the first phase.
