“Over 2 years ago, I was in search of not only a great Speech therapist but one that connected with us. We found that in Leigh Root! We hit the jackpot with Leigh! My husband Chuck was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia and Leigh was instrumental in helping Chuck achieve a purpose while living with the disease. Leigh challenged Chuck and he loved working with her, and was always up for any challenge she threw his way. Our pizza lunches were special and Chuck loved his time with Leigh. She went over and above for us and has been devoted to us for years. Leigh was always willing to offer me advice when needed and kept up with my emails regarding Chucks progress. She visited us at home , and made Chuck feel special. She even checked in with us while she was on vacation - Just amazing! When Chuck had questions about the disease Leigh would have a talk with him and explain that it was a disease of the brain but not of the heart or the spirit. She had a way of putting his mind at ease, she gave us peace. Together, we extended Chucks life.She was all heart. Not only did we talk, sing and do exercises, but she gave us tools to make the difficult times easier.
