Wilde Lake Park is around the corner from my home, and I've frequented many times, but I am finally leaving a review. This park is not only a beautiful place, but a serene one as well. I find peace and serenity each time I frequent it. Often times I see people jogging, eating, and even enjoying each others company on the park benches. I've yet to encounter a negative experience at this park, and each encounter I have with people there are always pleasant. This will forever be my go to park!
Beautiful park with lots of benches and a tot lot for kids. People here are nice. Good place for nature photos.
Built around the same time Columbia, Maryland was founded, Wilde Lake is a man-made reservoir with a 1.3 mile trail loop around the lake. Here's why you should visit:
1) Nature: The scenery is beautiful and as you walk the trail, you'll see ducks and geese. Also, many of the trees have little signs by them explaining the type and significance. There's a man-made waterfall and little docks offering beautiful water views.
2) Amenities: There are plenty of benches around the lake offering quiet places to reflect, journal and read. There's a playground by a barn used for events.
3) Parking: It's easy to find with several lots around the lake.
If you are looking for a family-friendly spot, go here!
I love this park! It’s beautiful during the fall and in the summer. It’s peaceful and not overly crowded compared to other parks in the area. It’s pet friendly so feel free to bring your fur baby for a nice walk around the lake. I’ve been there many times and will be back again in the near future.
