Dunsmore Exteriors Roofing

Had a great experience with Dunsmore Exteriors. DE installed new aluminum fascia/rake capping and all new vinyl vented soffit on my house. Installed all new aluminum capping at 21 windows. A few of the windows had wood rot on the exterior and it was corrected and then capped. Because all the exposed wood on my house is now capped, I no longer need to worry about rotting wood or exterior repainting for decades.

From the estimate through the end of the job, Scott was very professional and wanted to ensure the customer would be pleased with the end results. Scott's crew did a great job during the 2 days and their job clean up was outstanding. Will definitely reach out to DE if I need roof / siding / window work in the future.

We were searching for roof repair and a roofing contractor to replace damaged gutters due to a fallen tree from a severe storm a few weeks ago. We got a total of five estimates, and nothing compared to the responsiveness, professionalism and care Scott showed us. The estimate was very reasonable in comparison. Even though Scott’s company was backed up like several other roofing contractors near Mt. Airy because of the storms, he showed up a few days later to give us an estimate scheduled by his extremely friendly and professional staffer Hope. Owner Scott came to our rescue when another roofer refused to come back immediately after we had paid them $450 repairs less than one months ago. (I never posted a Google review until now.) There are no words for Scott and his partner, Dave, who came to our house 15 minutes after we called.

Two days after Hurricane Ian passes through Maryland (not destructive but still much rain), our roof leaked water onto our bed. It was a slow peak that we thought had been fixed a month ago when another roofer sealed the roofing nails. Scott was able to diagnosis the problem immediately after getting into the attic--water came in around an exhaust pipe and the insulation was clearly wet. While it is still drizzling, Dave got onto the roof and caulk around the two tiles around the pipe. While the other roofer had "supposedly sealed" the roofing nails, it was still leaking due to the amount of rain we had and water had seep through the cracks and the nail hole.

Scott refused to accept payment from us. Who does that now days??? I am posting this because it is rare these days to be kind and generous. It is even rarer for a construction company to help their neighbors.

Would I recommend them to every neighbor? Yes and yes. Our house is only 5 years old. Our building is NV Homes, one of the largest in the country. They obviously contracted out the roofing work and who knows how many roofs have the problems we do.
Dunsmore Exteriors does roofing, windows and siding. There is no one else I would call to perform any exterior maintenance work!

It is apparent that Scott, Hope, and the entire team put the homeowner first! The quality of work from Dunsmore is excellent, right down to the clean up! I would highly recommend Dunsmore Exteriors!

This was a BIG job. We bought a fixer-upper and we needed an almost complete replacement of the exterior of our home: roof, skylights, siding/housewrap, trim, gutters, dormers, shutters, soffit, and windows — the whole nine yards. We were hoping to hire a single contractor to handle all the work and ensure it was all done seamlessly and watertight. Though we shopped around quite a bit for quotes, from some contractors that did everything and from some that specialized in one or two of our project tasks, Dunsmore Exteriors was the standout among our quotes for each individual portion of project. Their prices were honest and very competitive, their advice was sound, and their reputation among our friends and acquaintances preceded them.

We had a GREAT experience with Dunsmore Exteriors. The owner, Scott, is fantastic. Scott pours his all into the business, and it shows. Scott had a crew for each job, experts who specialized in a particular portion of the project, and the mastery of the work is quite evident. The finished result is just — wow.

After getting to know Scott and his crews, I could keep going about various things that impressed me about Dunsmore Exteriors, but I’ll summarize: excellent work and quality materials at competitive prices. Every visitor to our home comments on how fantastic it all looks.
