Saint Bernadette Catholic Church

Nice older church. Communion railings still there. :) Stations were beautiful. When the priest started, I knew it was going to be a short mass. :) The sermon was good and insightful.

I know of no better place in Marland to observe really fine liturgy, and to hear the Gospel so articulately expounded. If you want to know what old Latin chant sounds like in its intended environs, or if you want to try singing some Gregorian Masses en masse (pardon the pun) come check out the 11 AM ordinary-form mass.

Oh wow! Faithful reverent Celebration of the Liturgy of the Eucharist! 9 altar servers! Wonderful homily. Beautiful altar rail with most people kneeling to receive the Eucharist. Met the pastor after mass. Msgr. Bartholomew Smith was so warm and friendly with us. Incredibly endearing! There were so many young families. So encouraging and hopeful! Wish we lived closer to join. We would love to join this vibrant parish!

I've attended St. Bernadette Parish for 8 years. Monsignor Smith encourages me to meet the challenges of life as a Catholic should. His is a traditional parish with a beautiful liturgy; his homilies feel spontaneous and import energy. When he is the celebrant, I feel connected to Christ and other parishioners in ways I haven't always felt in other parishes. I primarily attend the 7:30 AM Mass because it has a spare, contemplative atmosphere. I would finally add that Monsignor Smith has, on numerous occasions, met with me privately when I sought guidance and the Sacrament of Penance. He always makes time for those who ask. If you want to experience a traditional, beautiful, meaningful Mass, come visit St. Bernadette' Parish.
