Dr Summerfield was excellent! He explained everything in perfect detail and in terms I can understand. I highly recommend him for anyone looking for an ophthalmologist or lasik specialist.
After disappointing visits to multiple ophthalmologists in the DC area I didn't want to have my eyes checked again but I was having trouble with my glasses. Dr Nicholson at Costco found elevated pressure in my eyes when he checked my glasses and insisted that I need to be checked. He recommended Dr Summerfield as someone he thought I would be able to work with. And he is right.
Dr Summerfield found the elevated pressures put me at risk for glaucoma. In addition he found cataracts. He arranged for both problems to be treated at the same surgery. Now my vision is clear and my eye pressures much improved.
Dr Summerfield is knowledgeable and kind. He explains everything he plans and why it is important, offers options, and welcomes questions. His staff went out of their way to accomodate my disabilities. His office has all the equipment to do complex testing for damage to my eyes from medication exposure. Scheduling of multiple visits was handled well. The wait times for the next appointments were short. I always felt welcomed and respected. The only complaint I have is at times the in office waiting was long. This is why I rated four stars instead of five. His care was so good it was well worth some added time waiting.
I recommend Dr Summerfield with no reservations. I will continue my eye care with Dr Summerfield. Thank you Dr Summerfield.
I am very please with doctor Summerfield. He has excellent bedside manner and is an outstanding surgeon. I am almost one week post op and I am seeing so much better already. I plan to have my right eye done in 6 weeks and I trust him fully.
