“I"m hesitant to review this tavern because I selfishly don't want it to attract more attention. Blackwater is a real local hidden gem. Just big enough, just friendly enough, just different enough and extremely tasty all for a descent price. The local beer selections are on point and the mixed drinks are top notch (I'd recommend the Chesapeake Mule, Manhattan or Old Fashioned). The food selections are a bit limited but all small establishments face that conundrum and for me it's not enough to stay away.”

“We are Eastern Shore locals who had just spent 3+ hours sitting in bridge traffic trying to get home on a Friday. Our car was making some alarming noises and it was getting late. We called Richard and he said he was stuck in the same traffic and would meet us at the shop. We got there and he ran a full diagnostic on our car. We were worried that it was going to be a cost we couldn't afford and worse yet, we would be without a vehicle (our only vehicle) while it got repaired. There was possible talk of having to go through the engine. We were getting pretty discouraged when on a whim he asked if he could check something else. Turns out the last place we had gotten an oil change at ( a major chain which will remain anonymous) hadn't filled up our oil and it was practically empty! Richard and Chad stayed late and took care of us right on the spot. I am beyond grateful that they took the time to check for a small issue before it turned into a major problem. They took the time to explain everything to us and treated us like family. I can honestly say the prices were extremely fair and I will recommend them to anyone and everyone. My husband and I have found our permanent auto repair shop! Thank you Richard and Chad!”

Will they be friendly and helpful? Yes! Will they give you a ride and/or pick you up where you need? Yes. And if you really really really must have a particular car (a minivan in our case one time) and you bug them enough will they make sure you get it? Sure they will. They actually will go above and beyond if pushed.”

They have been very helpful in making new hydraulic hoses for me, building battery cables, and providing tools and parts, such as a tester for my boat alternators. They have built and crimped battery and hydraulic hoses right on the counter. They have the special heavy-duty crimping tools needed and provide the muscle!”
