(January 26, 2016, 11:54 am)We started seeing a yellowish tinge in our hot water and figured the hot water tank needed cleaned out. We tried it on our own and couldn't get it to drain, so we had the first guy availible come out (from another local company that spends a lot of money on advertising). He spent 15 minutes in our basement and then wrote up an estimate to replace the tank and a bunch of suggested repairs that would have cost thousands of dollars, even if we signed up for their service contract. Oh, and he charged us $49. For an estimate.
We called Kershner's next. They cleaned out the hot water tank, actually FIXING THE PROBLEM, and then gave us an estimate on a new hot water tank that was $200 less than the other company. Cleaning out the tank cost us their standard service charge, which was $98. So yeah, we're basically customers for life.
