“Great trails, very accessible. Perfect for young ones but there are longer trails for those who need a bigger trek. The variety of environments-meadows, deciduous forests, swamp, and bogs -is amazing, as is the view of Boston.”

“This hiking area is fascinating because of the ruins that can be found here. They don't really stand out, like a foundation stone or anything, but you can sort of make out where the trail to an old dance hall used to be, and the shape of an oval track that used to be used for foot races. All of that closed after a murder--all the more intriguing. It provides access to the commuter rail (the tracks, not a stop), which is always interesting to walk on. It's a good opportunity to get that "planking" shot for your Instagram account. The entrance to the hike is at the end of Pole Hill Drive. It's very clearly marked. There are some picnic tables at the base of the trail to the dance hall. Hiking trails are well marked inside the park. In July, around mid-afternoon, the entire hike was swarming with gnats and the like. My family was constantly swinging their arms. Or just snacking as we walked.”

“My wife and I got involved in joining a Monday morning walking group in the late spring. We met some great people who like us enjoy the peace and serenity of a quiet woods walk. And the beauty and cleanliness of Goldsmith Woodlands is the premier place to do this.....”

“You get what you are looking for. Peace and quiet in a pristine environment. A bit long to get to and pitch black at night to drive through. The roads are kind of tricky to handle with a big travel trailer but the sites are beautiful and well spaced out which allows for space and privacy. Facilities are clean and functional but a bit on the breezy side in the Fall. One star less because our water spout was broken, and despite our urgent request got never repaired.”
