This place is such a cool stop if you are in or near Rockport and like quirky things. We spent about 15 minutes here. Thanks to the owners for preserving their family history and doing such a great job of maintaining this!
The paper piano was very impressive. Even the newspaper headlines were made to line up facing the viewer.
Honor code donation of $2 per person. Totally reasonable.
Very cool old house. very impressive what one can do with paper. It is a nice attraction in Rockport highly recommend visiting. Be careful with the paper and do not touch.
Very interesting! The actual paper house is on the right. The larger, newer building is where the owners live. It wasn’t obvious at first.
I think this unique site gets passed by ... its tucked away in a quiet, little neighborhood. The house and furniture within are made of newspaper. It's a $2 donation to visit. Honor system (there's a box on adjacent property to leave donation). You enter on your own and take your time browsing.
It's worth the stop if your already in the area.
A Work of Amazement!
Just outside Rockport is the curious Paper House. The entire house including walls, doors and much of the furniture inside was made out of newspapers by a mechanical engineer in 1922. I'm not sure quite how it's still standing, but it's amazing to see and has running water, electricity, a stove and even a working fireplace!
