My wife and I welcomed our first child in January. Tara was the first doula we met and after speaking with other candidates we immediately were most comfortable with her being present for one of the most important days in our lives. Tara pointed my wife toward the resources she needed to prepare herself mentally and physically for birthing. I was sick when our child arrived and she really aided my wife when I could not be of help. For that I am eternally grateful. I would also note that she is an excellent and objective advocate for your medical preferences. We were hoping to have a fully natural childbirth and she was extremely helpful in guiding us to that goal where it was feasible. Unlike many medical professionals she will not guide you to take the easy way out but will also be careful enough to recommend avoiding unnecessary risks. Her bedside demeanor and attitude is amazing. If we have another child she will be retained again and potentially as a midwife.
