I stopped by to see if they had a park for me to bring our grandkids. I walked the shoreline and it was beautiful. There is some trash and fishing line left behind. There were quite a few people fishing off the shore. They have a couple boat ramps there and plenty of parking to accommodate trucks and boat trailers. They had restrooms but the men’s and women’s were both locked. There was a port a potty available to use. There is no play area or anything for kids to do. This part of Buckeye Lake is definitely just for fishing and boating. There was only a couple picnic tables. So not really anything else to do at this site. They do have a interesting history plaque up to read and learn about the area.
Popular place. Only 2 state owned boat ramps with facilities. Caught a lot of catfish there tho.
I haven't been to Buckeye Lake in awhile. I've heard about the improvements concerning the dam and around the boat launches.I also heard about a walking/bike path on the north shore. I went today and walked about halfway and back.I am very impressed by the improvements and happy that an actual pathway that is paved was added. It's 4 miles from the north shore boat launch to Sellers Point. It offers views of the lake that you couldn't see before and you can see how much was put into erosion control on the shoreline.
Beautiful view. Wish the maintenance of the park was better upset. The history signs and decor was in dier need of repair. Steam boat museum was a stand out feature however. Only 1 picnic table. No were to really take in the view optimally
My husband and I venture up here on 05/01/2021 and it was nice. Lots of room for people to spread out and enjoy the lake in peace. Everyone was friendly and nice and I would definitely recommend coming here. Thanks for reading this peeps and stay safe. And remember to stay humble and kind, ❤❤
