This is a very special place. I will assume anyone reading this already understands the benefits of BJJ for both self-defense and character building. If you end up training here, the quality and style of BJJ is backed by authentic lineage from a very accomplished Professor and coaches. All the kids, parents, coaches, and adults are always smiling. Here, they teach and practice compassion, positivity, and peaceful resolution to conflict. This is vital, especially for kids, when learning such a lethal skill. I have been to tournaments with my daughter and watched coaches from other schools promote violence and the importance of winning at all costs and felt very sorry for those kids, and thankful we ended up here. Ironically at these tournaments our kids and adults are some of the most accomplished. By a stroke of luck I brought my then 10yr old daughter here 2yrs ago to learn self-defense and confidence, and we got so much more. It has transformed her life inside and outside of the gym and we became part of an incredible community that has positively impacted our family in many ways. Although we are one of the very few non-Brazilians here, we feel like family, and we're grateful to be a part of the legacy of this school.
This place is like a second family!! The coaches are very patient and kind to our kids. They teach our kids to be physically and mentally their best person inside and out and they don’t give up on them! We have a awesome friendship with both kids and parents! It is a family friendly environment! Highly recommend!!
Absolutely amazing people. I had been looking for a place my 3 almost 4 yr old daughter, and other schools wouldn’t accept because of age or the prices were an ABSURD. They opened up a class just for smaller children (beginners) and my daughter asks every day if it’s her “exercise day”... She is simply loving it and it makes me as a mother thrilled to see her excitement in going to class. They put the same effort and dedication towards all students no matter their ages.
Amazing place with excellent instructors! They love what they do! Kids love being there, working out, learning important skills and growing up in a healthy and funny place!
I have trained Brazilian Jiu Jitsu over the years at a few different academies but Cascao BJJ is different. There is a family aspect there that I have not seen anywhere else! I was lucky enough to start training there right as they opened their new location with a friend and immediately noticed how close everyone is. In addition to that, the training is top notch offering both beginners and individuals wanting to compete opportunity to explore what they want to do.
Master Henrique and coaches Kaka and Japa were the best. They brought me in and made me feel welcomed. While I am personally pursuing some other fitness goals at the moment, I know it's a matter of time I'll be back for more training!
