Rene is one of the best and most honest mechanics I've ever had the privilege to work with. Rene has looked after, garaged, and worked on my car for the past 8+ years. My car never goes anywhere else. I trust him 1000% and he could easily charge far more than he does - he's been around these cars forever and knows every year and every model inside and out... you'll never go wrong with Rensport...
I have an 82 911 and Rene has been servicing it since 1994. Nothing but talent, integrity and honesty. Rene has forgotten more about Porsche's than most Porsche wrenches will ever know.
Best tire shop in GTA, I come from Orangeville Ontario just for the superior service from Victor and his pit crew. Thanks again for the Cachland tires on my Mercedes they are so smooth and quiet. I strongly recommend Rensport to all my friends.
Having dealt with most of the local shops in Mass for 25 years, off and on, I can say hands down that I would recommend Rensport in Framingham. I'm assuming that they are still doing exceptional work at a reasonable price. It's been a few years since I've had any work done there, but my history goes back to when they were Don's automotive in the late 80s. I've had work done on my '73 911E and 79 911SC there, and recommended my brother take his 356 there many years ago. He had a great experience as well. I haven't been there in several years, but I trust Rene (the owner) implicitly, in part, for the reason someone dings the shop below. They'll fix a component before replacing it to save the vehicle's owner money. There are many other shops around, but Rensport/Dons always made me feel like they were there for enthusiasts that don't have money to burn on parts and repairs they don't need. When I replace the 911 that I sold most recently I'll take my next car there. Keep in mind that Rensport is not your typical shop, and might not be able to get to your car for a while. But the service is personal.
I think the reviewer who refered to Rensport as "Kafkaesque" is totally missing the point. Rensport is for Porsche owners who not only love their cars, but also the culture that goes along with it. Yes, you could bring your car to a dealership and pay to have them replace an entire assembly rather than fix the specific issue. That's how they make money. Rene operates at the other end of the spectrum. He has an amazing base of knowledge and experience, and clearly takes pride in his work. I consider him to be a very rare find for true Porsche enthusiasts.
