My Father lives here at Epoch in Sudbury. He seems happy there and I met one of his friends there who seemed very nice. Our family just wanted to make sure he was in a safe place!
My mom was in the Longfellow neighborhood at Bridges by Epoch at Sudbury for the past 3 years. We chose Bridges because of the beautiful, bright and welcoming environment and the warm, friendly and caring staff. We were impressed with 24 hour nursing coverage and the possibility of PRN medication which was not available at a lot of other memory care facilities that we looked at. The outdoor courtyards are beautiful and we spent a lot of time outside with her during our visits. We were very happy with her care at Bridges. My mom was able to be on hospice care as well while staying at Bridges, and her passing was peaceful. We were so comforted by the Bridges aides, nurses, and the food staff when she passed. You know that your mom has been not only well cared for but also loved when the staff cries with you. Thank you for making this very difficult time easier for our family.
If you are reading this, my heart goes out to you because chances are you on the very difficult path of memory loss with a loved one. I was VERY nervous to place my father in memory care assisted living, but it became clear that his needs were becoming greater than what I could provide for at home. To my great relief and joy, his quality of life vastly improved when he moved to Bridges at Sudbury. My father is cared for so beautifully here - not only his physical needs, but also socially and emotionally. The staff has really gotten to know him as an individual and I even feel supported and welcomed as a partner in his care. The staff members are so warm and dedicated. The communication is great. My dad enjoys the food! The daily scheduled activities are engaging and keep him busy and even trying new things (like painting and chair volleyball!). His favorite activities are the wonderful musicians who frequently perform, the outings to lunch, coffee or ice cream, and the therapy doggies. It really is a wonderful place and it means so much to me to recommend Bridges at Sudbury. Best wishes to you on this journey.
I am happy to say that when my mom cut the ribbon as the first resident to move into this new facility in the summer of 2018, I never thought our family's experience with Bridges in Sudbury would be at the same level as it is today. As a home care nurse for a local agency, I have been into most of the assisted living and memory care facilities in the surrounding area. I have a very high bar set for my mom and Bridges in Sudbury has exceeded my expections.
While my mom has had a slow and steady decline in her almost 4 years at Bridges, her journey has been supported by the amazing staff, many of which have been there since the day she walked in. She is well cared for socially, emotionally and physically. She enjoys the frequent entertainers that come to perform for the residents, loves the top notch food prepared by Chef Gary and most of all, she is content and safe in her environment. The staff care for her as one of their own. Communication from Bridges staff has always been excellent from the amazing Dawn B., Wellness Director, to the Abbott nursing and support staff who reach to me when my mom needs a new nightgown or personal care items. They note subtle changes in Mom and can identify when a medical intervention needs to take place. They handled COVID with amazing grace and strength, despite the enormous stress placed on them. I could not see my mom for 3 months because of COVID and although it was the most difficult 3 months, I knew her needs were being met, she was safe, and that I would see her on the other side of the COVID shutdown.
If your family is at this difficult juncture in life when you have to start looking for a place for your loved one with memory loss, I highly suggest scheduling a visit and tour at Bridges by Epoch in Sudbury!
