Sudbury Cooperative Preschool

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Sudbury Cooperative Preschool! Warm, nurturing, supportive, enriching, flexible....and truly a family! The faculty, staff and family-centered culture help to foster a truly amazing learning environment for the students. In addition to core classroom hours, the extended day programs are fantastic. We initially chose the co-op as it was one of very few schools in the area I found that started at age 2.0, but we stayed because we loved it!! My daughter attended for three years and is now in kindergarten. Though she was very well-prepared for kindergarten and is very happy at her new school, a week doesn’t go by without her saying how much she misses the co-op!!

We loved the co-op community, the small classes, the play-based learning, and most of all, the engaged and nurturing staff. Focused on gentle transitions and encouraging parent involvement, at the Co-op it was wonderful to have flexible preschool options, optional afternoon enrichment activities, and both school-wide field trips and community-wide events. We wish we had more children, just so we could send them to the Sudbury Cooperative Preschool!

The co-op is a great community of parents as well as kind, encouraging, nurturing teachers. We have been with the school for two years now and our son absolutely loves it. I love the flexible options for lunch buddies and stay and play. They really come in handy on a drop in basis!

We love the Sudbury Co-op! Our oldest son has spent the last 4 years in this school and we plan to send our youngest there next year. The Co-op has a family centered philosophy where we become part of the school. The school feels like a community and we have developed wonderful friendships. The play based learning model makes learning fun, but we are completely impressed with the STEM curriculum and how that is incorporated into the classroom. Over the past year there have been some positive changes to the Co-op that make being part of the school more flexible. The extended day program has also changed giving more educational options to after school care. My son loves karate. We are so pleased that we sent him there and know he is more than ready to start kindergarten!

I have been a part of the Co-op for 6 years now, having sent my daughter and son through the school. We have been in each class and had each teacher and can not say enough good things about the experience that both of my children have had. The teachers and Directors are some of the most wonderful people I have met. They care about each child as if they were their own and encourage each child to learn through play at their own developmental pace. My children can't wait to go to school each day and come home with amazing learning experiences.

Each day is a new adventure at the Co-op. The extracurricular programs that go along with the regular curriculum are awesome. From movement, music, yoga, Spanish, Karate, art and the Tumble Bus make for wonderful stories and excitement coming home.

The Co-op has been more than just a preschool for us. We have met some of our best friends here. This year is our last year at the school as my son will be moving on to Kindergarten. He is incredibly ready to transition into his new school, although I know we will miss the Co-op so much. The best part is, the people that we have met here will remain friends forever.
