Boarding was smooth & organized. Prices are comparable to competitors. We loved that the boat had bench seating outdoors on the top deck and lots of seating outdoors as well as in doors below. We saw dolphins, a sunfish and lots of whales (logging, lazy diving, lots of blow, fin splashing). We got really close up to many of the whales. It's a really ship, so expect the boat to rock from side to side- made the experience really authentic! Excellent narration by the female crew member. Clean boat & bathrooms. Brought the following on board: food & drinks, jackets, sun block. Will bring next time: heavier & hooded jackets (hats do fly off) and Dramamine for sea sickness (just as a precaution- no accidents on board)! Amazing navigation by captain. We went out further due to reports of n sighting-captain wanted to be sure we saw whales and boy did we! My mom liked this over the one she normally does and she's hard to impress, so good on all of you at Captain John's! See you next year!
(September 15, 2019, 12:33 pm)What a great experience for a land lover from Arizona! We saw whales almost right off the bat when we got to the sanctuary they even had biologists and experts on board ask questions and they're in the trip for us. Worth every penny. Saw lots of whales.
(September 10, 2019, 9:17 am)My wife and I spent a week in Cape Cod for our 24th Anniversary. Whale watching was on my "bucket list". We picked Captain John Boats and had a FABULOUS experience! Even though it was fairly overcast, we had lots of interesting interactions with these beautiful animals. The staff was incredible, and the captain put us in to great positions for photo opportunities. The whales were being kind of lazy that day (no breaches or major fluke displays). But we still got some nice photos and close encounters that we will never forget. Highly recommended!!!
(August 31, 2019, 8:54 am)I have been fishing with this company for my entire life and never had a bad experience when you book a 4 hour trip what can you really expect any moving after the Capt stops the boat will only take away from the time you have if you want a good trip plan it and do an. 8 hour lots of time for catching fish and moving if need be I have never been disappointed I can't wait to see them tomorrow morning at 7
(August 25, 2019, 2:51 pm)We had an awesome experience! The captain did a wonderful job getting sooo close to the whales. I have great pics. The boat was being cleaned at all times. The staff was very pleasant, helpful and caring. A staff member has recommended to all on the line waiting to board the boat, to take a Dramamine so not to get motion sickness. So glad I listened. I enjoyed myself Immensely. My only disappointment was that all who were sitting along the perimeter on the lower deck, as we were, were not able hear what the tour guide was saying because the sound system was not reaching us. With that being said, I still highly recommend Captain John boats for whale watching ????
