Stephanie was amazing! Her instruction is very energetic and easy to understand which makes early morning classes much more enjoyable. The workout was well paced and suited to varying levels of student experience. She is very good with constructive criticism and helps you improve upon your current skills whether you are a beginner or have rowing experience. She is also very approachable which I think is an important characteristic in a teacher. Will definitely be returning to her classes!
Row studio is a fun, but tough workout. You do not have to be a rower to benefit from this exercise. Steph is great instructor, both as coach and cheerleader.
The rowing studio is a terrific way to stay in shape, meet new people, and improve your rowing technique. I came to the studio having taken intro to rowing and novice sweeps on the Charles, a little skeptical about how much I’d enjoy indoor rowing. But after the first class I became a convert! All of the rowing and yoga instructors have been wonderful — knowledgeable, gentle, and fun, especially Stephanie, who directs the program with an ideal balance of inspiration, style, and spunk! I’m always eager for the next class!
As an out-of-shape 56 year old woman, I was a little timid to try Row Studio, but after three months it has become a happy habit.
Stephanie has an energetic coaching style that works well for the brand new rower while challenging experienced people. She is able to clearly explain the body mechanics and technique and provides constructive advice to improve while also including humorous commentary. I enjoy the rowing videos and seeing the technique of the high performance rowers while getting the sense (and scenery) of what it would be like to be in a scull. I also like the off-erg workout time and have mastered planks better than I ever imagined.
This is now an activity that I block off on my work calendar so that I can be sure to arrive on time
Great class! This non-rower tried the introductory class and it rocked. Instructor Stephanie was personable, positive, and taught technique throughout the class at a steady pace so everyone could improve. Her love of the sport was compelling. Other rowers were friendly and collaborative.
I started attending Drive Rowing Studio as a grumpily injured 42-year-old who was looking for a way to get in shape that would be easier on my bones and joints than running. And no athletic background needed. Drive Rowing Studio is a great environment no matter your starting point or goals.
