Body Mind Systems, West Roxbury

My two children have been taking lessons here for a few months and absolutely love their classes and instructors. I was wary at first that their enthusiasm would fade but they look forward to each class and is one of the few times they will actually hurry out the door because they don't want to miss a minute of class. They've learned to cooperate more with each other since classes have started and my older one has been more patient with the younger one in teaching him the new moves they've learned. It's been very easy to communicate with the instructors and we love the sense of community between the members.

My daughter has her training with Alex and she loves the classes. She is a shy child but through the class she gained more confidence.

The children's karate program has been so beneficial for my son, teaching him self-discipline, building strength and learning the fundamentals of karate. He looks forward to the classes and likes all of the instructors. Once he started attending classes again in-person, his school teacher commented on how much better behaved he was - to which he credited his time at karate. Great program and I'd recommend it to any parent this is looking for an outlet for their high energy children.

I think there are perceived images of martial arts that tend to shy parents away from enrolling their kids. My son has been training here for about 4 years; we have learned to not only appreciate the physical component, but also the values that I find other sports and activities don't emphasize: discipline, respect, confidence and focus. The Body Mind Systems team is great with kids (Instructor Alex is awesome!), bringing a teaching style that blends having fun with the right dose of strictness.

I trained here for about 10 years now, and still do. I've learned a good deal of skill in martial arts, and the instructors always adapt to different students' goals and abilities.

In my time with Body Mind Systems, I developed discipline as I grew up with the training - which has helped me in the beginning of my career, and throughout school. That discipline allows me to keep my goals in mind and better understand how to pursue and achieve those goals.
