“The Esplanade really is a great place to stroll through for exercise, walk your dog, or scenic view. Dress appropriately, can get very cold and windy. Blue lighting at night under the Longfellow bridge gives the river a wonderful appealing look. Bathrooms shut down for the winter. * Final note, been coming to the river for 9 years, I notice last year the slider turtles, frogs, and musk rat's ( a purplish furry water swimming vegetarian rodent ) in the Charles River from Mass Ave bridge to Longfellow Bridge disappeared. What happen ???”

“Before the bench was taken out, it was a super nice place, to sit in a beautiful, shaded space to have my lunch. I work in the building right down the street & know the problems with the area's homeless ppl. But I don't mind by them& they don't mind me. LoL I wish they didn't take out the bench.”

“We really love taking our kids here. The splash pad and wading pool are a lot of fun when they're open. The water is really only comfortable if it is 85 F or higher and sunny, so don't go on colder days. The pool can get crowded and dirty by the end of the day, so it is best to come early. The playground equipment is also nice. Best of all there is TONS of parking. Definitely worth a couple of visits during June and August when the weather is good.”

“It’s so easy to forget how close Greater Boston is to the ocean and harbor islands, but this park provides a vantage point to see the sea and a lighthouse, which I haven’t found at other parks in Boston! There’s also an interesting rock sculpture that’s nice to climb and sit on. There are lots of different fields at this park (baseball, soccer, basketball). Great for a nice stroll through covered and uncovered paths.”
