My child has noticeable speech and language issues and is not eligible for public school service. Fortunately, I found Diane. She has been working with my child for about a year and is absolutely amazing! She motivates my child and pulls stuff out of him I have never seen before. My child and Diane had an instant connection. Diane loves what she does and is extremely good at what she does. She is constantly looking for ways to help my child. She believes in him and knows she can do more than the professionals "expect". My child made significant and noticeable progress. Not only he improved his speech and language skills, but also he becomes a reader. Diane is extremely patient, caring, and flexible. My work hours made it difficult to bring my son during early afternoon hours and Diane offers late afternoon hours.
My 12-year-old daughter started seeing Diane six months ago. Diane was recommended by the school's speech therapist. My daughter had difficulty pronouncing certain sounds including "l", "th", and the dreaded "r". Diane immediately knew what she needed. She knew it was too early to launch into certain individual sounds but rather, focused on strengthening my daughter's over-all low tone with easy, fun and diverse exercises to develop her muscles. This enabled her to make a quicker progression to more difficult sound articulation. Being 12, my daughter got a later start with needed therapy, but with Diane's up-beat, gentle and knowledgeable approach she is making great progress that even her grandparents noticed.
Diane was recommended by our pediatrician and has seen our now 4-year-old for over a year. She is able to challenge him in a supportive manner and he always looks forward to seeing her. In addition to working on speech skills, Diane ties in social skills work for our son who has been behind his peers in this regard. However, over the past year he has made great progress and we even see him verbalizing some of the concepts he's learned with Diane in everyday settings, such as remarking, "I know you're talking to him because your eyes are looking at him." Diane is great at follow-up after sessions and discussing what she did and what we as parents can do over the next week or two until her next session in order to reinforce her lessons and help our son continue to make gains in speech and social skills. We're thrilled to have found Diane and to see what a great impact she's had on our son!
