If you have a license to carry a firearm which is good for five years, you receive a reminder to renew a few months before your birthday. Once you submit your renewal application you wait for a call to come in to get a new photograph and to sign a form. Then you wait again.
But evidently the application is sent to the State Police Headquarters for them to make the final decision.
If you are still waiting when the expiration date comes and still haven't received the new card, don't worry. There is still a ninety day grace period. Hang on to your expired license to carry firearm card!
I had called to see if I should bring my weapon in to the police to hold for me rather than have an expired Firearm License. It took a while and for someone to know about the ninety day grace period! There should be a more efficient method that shouldn't take over three months to do.
Southborough PD has always been filled with great officers. They are always polite, professional and accommodating, and have always been there for us with a very fast response when our family has needed them. They work well together with the town's fire department too. Kudos.
Excellent police department. They are connected to the community and you always see them at town events including things like volunteer luncheons at the senior center. They cruise the neighborhoods constantly, giving homeowners a feeling of security. Never had a bad experience with them - and when I've been pulled over for going a little too fast on back roads....well....it was ligit.
Very professional and nice. I know them very well. Only problem is they never do what they should do in civil cases and just let the crook get away. The city says to call the police if some things happen but the police refuses to do it in civil cases as I guess it is too boring. Still, very nice police force as long as your landlord doesn't break into your place every day...
