One of the states most beautiful conservation and wildlife management areas. With ample maintained trails or woods. It is notable that this is an active pheasant hunting area, deer as well. Caution should be exercised during season. The fields are farmed by a local farmer it is advised to show respect to the crop area by not damaging plants or allowing dog access to the farmed fields during planting season. Dogs must be leashed and dog feces removal is mandated by the Mass division of fisheries and Wildlife whose headquarters are located on the perimeter. Notable as well is the Assabet river runs through the Western border and the lake Chauncy conservation area abuts the Eastern side. Still allowed to be a very natural area you are sure to see much wildlife ; Beaver, raccoon, muskrat, deer, turkey, pheasant, quail, fisher cat, wood duck, and multitudes of bird variety to name a few. Old forest growth trees and stonewalls are also scattered throughout. The area is rich in History worthy of a visit.
