ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation (Adrian)

My name is Larry Justice. I was in provincial house because I lost my toes and a little bit of my foot. My experience in provincial house was great the staff was wonderful they were very helpful. They keep you busy they have a lot of fun activities. The staff was very polite. It was like being around family you could laugh and have fun. I am glad to be out but will miss everyone there.

This is the 2nd time my 87 year old mother has been in this facility for rehab. We actually requested her being transferred here so my wife could participate in her daily care, as it's close to home and other facilities would not allow the same access.

This is a SNF (Skilled Nursing Facility) not the Holiday Inn. While the facility might be somewhat dated, it IS clean. You can't update/freshen things up when all the rooms are full. The meals are normal size portions, based on the diet restrictions. The staff will find something different for you if you can't or don't want to eat what is on the tray. Because my Mother can't walk to the cafeteria yet, my wife has gone in and gotten a replacement for something and has never had a problem. The staff has always been polite and friendly.

The various assortment of different Therapists, Nurses, CNA's, Dr., housekeeping, and Activities staff are very friendly and answer any questions my wife has, which I can assure you are a lot! The lady who registered my Mother was friendly, helpful, and listened to our concerns. So far, there has only been 1 person who has irked her, which she immediately communicated.

There are activities and everyone gets a calendar so they know. Everything from crafts, movies, one on one time, bingo, cards, church service, trips to Walmart, etc. My wife says they should remind people when the activities are for higher participation, but it's also not a cruise ship. They even have a beauty shop day you can make an appt for, but they do not cut or perm. My Mom did like how they curled/styled her hair, so that's all that matters.

Your experience with this facility probably depends on your communication and family involvement. My wife has not complained and she is there most of the day, every day. In the two weeks my Mom has been there, she has probably annoyed the staff more than they have annoyed her, and that's saying something.
